About the artist
Gail Lapins was born in New York City. She studied at the Otis Parson
Art Institute where she discovered her intrigue and romance with the
human form which has never wavered over the years.
Lapins is a narrative figurative artist who strives to constantly
challenge herself by seeking ways to express the unifying rhythms of
life as well as universal events through time.
The use of the circle in many of the sculptures expresses a sense of the wholeness of life and is a metaphor for the conscious and the subconscious.
Her contemporary figurative bronze works have been exhibited in art
galleries, museums and university settings, nationally and internationally; Including the Armand Hammer Museum. L.A. County Museum of Art, Long Beach Museum and Texas Artist Museum to name a few.
